This photo sets the stage well. 'Long Way Home...' shows the quiet, deserted street of which a man takes everyday on his way home. It gives the feeling that he is a very lonely man, returning to an empty home. You automatically feel bad for this man and his mundane life. This photograph is very real though and many people feel this way. It's a message that seems to touch all of us, even if it's in just a small way, we can all relate.

It's so easy to get the message, even if it had no title at all, is because the object is far away. Had the object been closer to the camera you'd get less empty space which obviously adds to the effect.

Black and white was the way to go because, here, it adds to the feeling of having a bland life.
